Phil Spencer estaba en el centro del proyecto, y en las reuniones, su propio personal le presentó argumentos de por qué Game Pass no funcionaría, dando ejemplos como que los editores no iban a participar o quedarían con las ganancias. Pero como ha revelado Irving, Spencer no cedió nunca. “Él no aceptaría un no por respuesta. Él siempre estaba tratando de encontrar una manera de hacer que funcionara”.
